For more information, visit Job description: Senior Network Engineer Hybrid working model Location: Kilkenny or Citywest Dublin Tirln Tirln, currently partnering with a 3rd party service provider for the provision of IT services, is about to embark on a significant IT transformation programme to stand up its own IT capability. The initial focus will be on enabling projects and will involve close collaboration with our partner. This will require a number of new and exciting roles to join the Tirln IT team, working in adynamic& collaborative environment. ? Overview Reporting to the IT Transformation Manager, the Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the local and wide area networks of the organisation to ensure maximum uptime for users. The role requires a thorough understanding of networking technologies, hands-on experience, and problem-solving skills. The role is responsible for overseeing the work performed and managing the operational aspects of the managed service provider relationships. The Tirln wide area network consists of 80 locations including manufacturing facilities, data centres, office and retail locations. Key Responsibilities Work closely with the network and security managed service providers to: Plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of network equipment including switches, routers and firewalls Implement security policies and controls as defined by Tirlns security team Maintain effective network services by evaluating and resolving network performance issues including availability, utilisation, throughput, and latency Maintain the network, considering redundancy, diversity, failover technologies, upgrades and expandability Optimise the network through monitoring performance, and collaborating with network architects on design Review SLAs and overall performance of the network managed service providers. Serve as technical specialist in network problems and emergencies. Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations and setups Ensure the network complies with security standards and industry regulations, and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans as needed Work collaboratively with other IT teams and business stakeholders to support new initiatives and projects Contribute to the strategy development for Tirlans Central IT Infrastructure Key Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 5+ years of experience in IT Network Support Expert knowledge of network technologies and their application across WAN, LAN, Wireless, Voice, and Network Security Experience in configuration, implementation, and support of enterprise or manufacturing networks with diverse solutions from multiple vendors Experience with WAN and LAN design, IP networking, firewalls, switching, routing, wireless and remote access technologies Preferable to have industry recognised certifications e.g CCNP, Ability to manage relationships with internal business customers Proven experience working with managed service providers in managing Enterprise Networks Strong verbal and written communication skills Proven analytical and problem-solving skills Strong team player with a growth mindset About us Through our expertise in research and development, customer insights, food safetyand state-of-the-art manufacturing we bring innovative food and nutrition solutions to a global market.
