Inventory Contoller

Our client, a leading timber merchant, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing inventory management processes for wood products and ensuring efficient stock control. Responsibilities: Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies for timber products Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels of various wood materials, including logs, lumber, and finished wood products Coordinate with logistics and purchasing teams to ensure timely replenishment of stock Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and prevent stockouts or overstocking Implement and maintain a system for proper labeling and identification of wood species and harvest dates Oversee the storage and handling of raw materials to prevent degradation and ensure quality Collaborate with production teams to optimize work-in-process inventory levels Develop strategies to manage seasonal fluctuations in timber supply and demand Requirements: Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in the wood products or related industry Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office suite Understanding of lean inventory principles and best practices in stock control Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient operations of a dynamic timber merchant, supporting the company's growth in the wood products industry.
