As a Data Analyst, you will support the modernization of Optum Rx's underwriting tools - the Rebate Projection Tool (RPT) and P&L pricing platform. Working alongside senior developers and actuarial partners, you will help migrate these tools from Excel into Azure-based applications with modern user interfaces. This role offers the opportunity to build technical skills while learning the business of underwriting and rebate forecasting.

Primary Responsibilities of the Data Analyst:

- Assist in migrating Excel-based RPT and P&L tools into scalable, cloud-based applications
- Support the design and testing of GUIs for underwriting users
- Document requirements, processes, and testing results
- Validate model outputs with underwriting and actuarial stakeholders
- Develop dashboards and data visualization to drive actionable insights
- Collaborate with both technical and business teams to ensure accurate implementation

Required Qualifications of the Data Analyst:

- Experience in software development, data analytics, or financial/actuarial systems
- Programming proficiency in Python and SQL, or similar programming languages

Preferred Qualifications of the Data Analyst:

- Familiarity with cloud services (preferably Azure) and relational databases
- Exposure to financial modeling, actuarial processes, or insurance pricing tools
- Experience working in health informatics or within the healthcare industry or prior experience with Clinical, Claim, and/or Hospital Billing Data Types
- Expertise in Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Power Apps, pyspark
- Experience with GUI development frameworks (React, .NET, or similar)
- Background in migrating models from Excel into scalable applications
- Interest in health care, underwriting, or pharmacy benefit management
