Product ratings and reviews provide Zalando's customers access to authentic, detailed, and diverse feedback on products and empower them to make confident purchase decisions. Zalando is making significant investments into its ratings and review experiences and to achieve this are forming a new dedicated team with a mission to elevate the experience to best in class for our customers, while also achieving significant business impact for the business.

As part of this newly formed team, Zalando is seeking a skilled React Native Android Engineer to help shape the customer-facing capabilities that will empower over 50 million users to gain insights from more than 100 million ratings and reviews. This role calls for solid expertise in Android app development and React Native, as well as proven experience collaborating with backend teams to build scalable, data-driven solutions. Familiarity with modern integration patterns, including RESTful APIs and GraphQL, will be a strong advantage.

- You are a smart individual with considerable engineering experience and skills, driven by the desire to tackle tangible customer problems.

- You have a comprehensive understanding of modern Android development. Additional experience with the React Native ecosystem, including Redux for state management and React Navigation being a distinct advantage.

- You feel at ease with a diverse tech stack, embracing the opportunity to learn new languages, technologies, and systems.

- You exhibit robust stakeholder management skills, fostering effective communication and collaboration with engineering peers, applied scientists, and product owners throughout the organisation.

- You have solid experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile application development, ensuring efficient and reliable releases.

- You are experienced in implementing and using monitoring and observability tools and practices to ensure mobile application health, performance, and stability.

- You are passionate about clean, well-tested, and maintainable code. You take ownership and pride in code quality.

- You have a proven track record in high-performing teams, confidently leading technical discussions, articulating ideas effectively, and independently driving technical decisions while fostering collaboration.

- You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills for clearly and concisely articulating complex technical topics and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- You thrive in collaborative environments, seamlessly integrating with various stakeholders and navigating complex domains, such as ML Engineers, Applied Scientist and other Software Engineering teams.
