Checkout Manager | Retail Grocery | North County Dublin

We are seeking an experienced Checkout Manager to join a busy supermarket in North County Dublin on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with retail supervisory experience who is committed to delivering exceptional customer service.

Salary: €25,000-€28,000 per annum

The Role:
This is a full-time position working an average of 42.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7, including weekends and public holidays. The role may evolve to 3 days Checkout Management and 2 days HR/Admin support.

Main Duties:

- Overall management of a busy checkout department

- Supervision of a team of 8-10 staff on duty

- Rostering for a team of approximately 25, including supervisory staff

- Queue management and ensuring excellent customer service

- Ensuring all staff have the tools required for their role

- Covering tills during peak periods and supporting the customer service desk

- Overseeing the store end of home delivery operations

- Departmental housekeeping and adherence to relevant legislation

- Staff training, development, and mentoring

- Assisting the store manager in other areas as required

Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a busy checkout team in a retail grocery environment

- Experience with till/cash register systems

- Strong people management and leadership skills

- Excellent communication, organisational, and multi-tasking skills

- Experience in staff training and development

- Ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver excellent customer service

- Flexible to work early starts, late finishes, and weekends

- Fluent in English, both written and spoken

- Able to work independently and as part of a team
