EPD has established an Analytics Center of Excellence responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining an Enterprise Analytics and Data Management solution servicing all regions across EPD functional areas.

Primary Job Function:

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable cloud-based data solutions.
- Support the Enterprise Analytics and Data Management Program by creating and maintaining optimal data pipelines, ensuring data is clean, correctly mapped, and processed according to business expectations and the enterprise data model.
- Translate EPD business needs into technical specifications to enable business strategies by working directly with business stakeholders (across functional areas) and Architects.
- Develop data pipelines to deliver data products supporting analytics’ expected benefits and capabilities.
- Ensure integrity, scalability, robustness, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness of the solutions.
- Define, implement, and enforce development standards and patterns.
- Ensure solutions align with corporate IT services and policies (Security Standards, Data standards, ETL standards, Architecture Standards).
- Participate in Master Data Governance, including Master Data Management activities through data flows and data build.
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing and data engineering.
- Lead and guide external vendors’ data engineers in building solutions for EPD

Core Job Responsibilities:

- Understand EPD information needs in the context of business strategies and priorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Work closely with business users and architects to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications, including data definitions, data models, data flows, and transformations/logic required.
- Identify and obtain data from various data sources, ingest, and transform into data products.
- Implement enterprise-level data pipeline and best practices such as CICD and unit testing
- Continuously improve user experience and suggest adjustments in integration processes.
- Enhance data management activities to release business teams from repetitive non-value-added activities.
- Actively manage data lifecycle and release management: deployment between environments, handover to support
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date project and solution documentation.
- Proficient in using technology components and patterns to realize master data activities
- Implement business and technology initiatives to fulfil data needs
- Manage the work of external teams, focusing on guiding and checking the correctness of developed solutions against best practices and guidelines.
- Actively participate in enhancing ways of working in the data engineering area.
- Identify and implement innovative data engineering solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Make key decisions in the data engineering area, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.
- Be part of internal Architecture team ensuring data solutions are aligned with the overall IT architecture and strategy.
- Lead data engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Ensure data solutions are designed with the end-user in mind, enhancing the overall customer experience.
- Regularly engage with business leaders to understand their data needs and provide strategic insights.

Minimum Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or similar
- Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or similar.

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

- Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in developing cloud data solutions.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments.
- Minimum of five years of experience in working in AWS environment using data-related services such as S3, Athena, Glue, Step Functions, Redshift, Lambda, Lake Formation, Api
- Minimum of five years of experience in programming languages such as Python, Spark
- Minimum of two years experience in managing technical teams
- Advanced knowledge of cloud computing and data engineering principles.
- Expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Extensive Experience in Data integration concepts like Data Hub, Data Warehouse, Integrated and Harmonized data, Global Data Model, Data Quality Checks, Change Data Capture (CDC), performance and tuning, orchestration (batch, real-time, on-demand), hub and spoke design pattern, Data Product, DevOps, development best practice, reusability of code, Data Profiling, Data Discovering
- Advanced knowledge of DBT
- Proficiency in SQL and MPP databases
- Strong understanding of data governance and security best practices.
- Ability to manage and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a global team environment.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Expertise in performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Experience in integrating data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.
- Knowledge in Data Modelling (3rd NF, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema) would be an asset.
- Knowledge in IDERA E/R Solution would be an asset.
- Understanding of machine learning and AI concepts would be an asset.
- Fluent in English written and verbal.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry would be an asset.
