Oliver James is keen to speak with strong candidates in the Sustainability Reporting arena who would be interested in moving into a newly created role within a leading Specialty Insurer expanding operations in Dublin.

The focus of this role will be to aid in the delivery of sustainability reporting to ensure the business can effectively communicate its progress against the objectives set out in the sustainability strategy. The role will report into the Head of Group and Statutory Reporting and will be responsible for both internal and external reporting on sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the preparation of the data necessary to support the delivery of internal and external sustainability reporting.
2. Lead the delivery of the business's sustainability reports and external ESG disclosures, such as: TCFD, CDP, CSRD, CSA.
3. Lead the continued development of the processes and procedures required to facilitate existing and new sustainability-related metrics.
4. Develop and deliver regular progress reports on sustainability performance to key stakeholders.
5. Support the delivery of audit and assurance processes to ensure the business can meet assurance standards for its ESG reporting.
6. Support the delivery of initiatives which will ensure the business can meet forthcoming legislative requirements for ESG regulations, such as CSRD.
7. Support the sustainability team in implementing plans to ensure continued improvement in sustainability ratings based on information gathered from audits or other sources.
8. Support the sustainability team with sustainability-related returns and submissions and regular and ad hoc reporting requirements, including data quality checks, resolving external assurance queries, and proofing report content.
9. Build and maintain a strong internal network.
10. Support the delivery of wider initiatives across the sustainability strategy.

The successful candidate's day-to-day will focus on:

1. Comply with the business's procedures, policies, and regulations, including the code of conduct.
2. Undertake training on the business's policies and procedures as delivered by your line manager, the Culture & People, or assurance teams (compliance, risk, internal audit), either directly, via e-learning, or through the learning management system.
3. Display business ethics that uphold the interests of all our customers.
4. Ensure all interactions with customers are focused on delivering a fair outcome, including having the right products for their needs.
5. Comply with any specific responsibilities necessary for your role as outlined by your line manager, the Culture & People, or assurance teams (compliance, risk, internal audit) and ensure you keep up to date with developments in these areas. This may include, amongst others, the business's underwriting control standards, the business's claims control standards, other business standards, and customer relationship management.
6. Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any business committees or working groups.

Required Skills:

1. Experience in producing high-quality technical reports to demonstrate alignment with regulatory requirements, inform business strategy, and show the value of sustainability within the decision-making process.
2. Proven experience in sustainability reporting (preferably with exposure to CSRD).
3. Proven experience in external assurance and audit processes.
4. Strong analytical skills, with an ability to manage and interpret data to inform effective decision-making.
5. Proven project management experience and excellent communication skills.
6. Attention to detail and accuracy in written, visual, and numeric work.
7. Personable character with an ability to foster good working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
8. Ability to obtain buy-in and engagement from employees at all levels.
9. Experience liaising with, engaging, and presenting to senior business leaders.
10. Good awareness of a broad range of corporate social and environmental sustainability programmes, including areas such as TCFD, CSRD, ESG Disclosures, SASB, and Science-Based Targets.
