Dublin, Ireland Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. Full time

Overview

KKR is a leading global investment firm that offers alternative asset management as well as capital markets and insurance solutions. KKR aims to generate attractive investment returns by following a patient and disciplined investment approach, employing world-class people, and supporting growth in its portfolio companies and communities. KKR sponsors investment funds that invest in private equity, credit and real assets and has strategic partners that manage hedge funds. KKR’s insurance subsidiaries offer retirement, life and reinsurance products under the management of Global Atlantic Financial Group. References to KKR’s investments may include the activities of its sponsored funds and insurance subsidiaries.

The Opportunity

KKR is establishing a Technology & Engineering Centre of Excellence in Dublin — a strategic hub that will design and build next-generation platforms for investment technology, portfolio management, liquidity, risk, and data analytics.

As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will play a foundational role in this effort. This is more than building user interfaces — it’s about defining the architecture, raising the bar for engineering excellence, and shaping the direction of frontend development across the firm.

You will work on a modern cloud-native stack (React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Kubernetes, CI/CD) and partner with product, design, and engineering leaders across the globe to deliver high-impact, data-rich applications that are critical to KKR’s business.

This is a unique chance to:

- Join at the ground floor of KKR’s Dublin engineering hub.
- Contribute to mission-critical platforms used by investment and operations teams worldwide.
- Operate with staff-level scope: influencing multiple teams, setting best practices, and mentoring senior engineers.
- Work in a high-visibility environment, partnering directly with global technology leadership.

The Team

KKR’s Technology organization brings together product managers and engineers united by a single mission: to deliver exceptional products that drive measurable impact for our investors and portfolio companies.

We thrive on open collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence. Diversity of thought and global perspective are core to how we design scalable, adaptable solutions. As part of this team, you will have the freedom to innovate, the responsibility to lead, and the opportunity to shape KKR’s technology future.

The Role

As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will:

- Set technical direction for frontend architecture and development across multiple teams.
- Build and scale highly performant, data-rich applications that power investment and portfolio management decisions.
- Raise the bar for engineering excellence through code reviews, mentorship, and technical leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functional with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.
- Drive innovation in UI/UX, design systems, developer experience, and frontend tooling.
- Balance strategy and execution: making long-term architectural decisions while delivering iteratively in an agile environment.

What We’re Looking For

- Track record of designing and delivering complex, high-scale web applications with outstanding UX.
- Strong experience in architecture, design systems, and frontend performance optimization.
- Proficiency with backend integration (Python, microservices, GraphQL/REST APIs).
- Strategic thinker with the ability to influence across teams and mentor senior engineers.
- Passion for clean, maintainable, and observable systems.
- Interest in finance and the opportunity to apply cutting-edge technology to solve unique, high-value problems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with stakeholders and leadership.

KKR is an equal opportunity employer. Individuals seeking employment are considered without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other category protected by applicable law.
