Senior React Developer – Data Products

We are seeking a Senior React Developer to join our forward-thinking organization, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cutting-edge products.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Dublin office.

What the day will look like
Working in a fully Agile Scrum team, you will be exposed to a diverse range of technologies and like-minded people, all with the same mission – to drive the development of innovative data products for our clients.
The main responsibilities will be:
1. Building and refining Single Page Applications (SPAs) – with a focus on shipping well delivered experiences, that our clients “want to use every day”
2. Working with Product Managers and Designers on the vision, design, requirements, and delivery of the product
3. Developing a thorough understanding of the functional and non-functional requirements of the application, how customers use it, and how best to serve these needs
4. Collaborating with data scientists, data engineers, machine learning engineers – a number of these products leverage recent advances in AI and machine learning, and this team is key to bringing these developments to life as actionable features
5. Contributing to design, build, test & maintenance activities and be genuinely motivated by delivering solutions and issue resolutions to our business
6. Developing and maintain CI/CD pipelines as code
7. Welcome the opportunity to assist and spread knowledge to other members of the team
8. Support QA in testing products and resolving found issues.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
The successful Senior Developer must have:
1. Strong experience in React with Typescript and its ecosystem, including hooks, context API, Webpack, Babel, ESLint and other tools for code quality and performance
In addition, experience that would be interesting to see:
1. A passion for learning new technologies and solving complex problems
2. Component-Based Architecture - Strong understanding of reusable component creation and the principles of component-based architecture
3. Performance Optimization - Techniques for optimizing React applications, including lazy loading, memoization, and performance profiling
4. CSS-in-JS - Familiarity with CSS-in-JS solutions like styled-components, Emotion, or traditional CSS preprocessors like SASS and LESS
5. Backend Integration - Experience with integrating to RESTful APIs
6. Responsive Design and Cross-Browser Compatibility - Ensuring responsive design practices and cross-browser compatibility
7. Testing Frameworks - Experience with testing tools like Jest, Enzyme, React Testing Library, and end-to-end testing frameworks like Cypress
8. Security Best Practices - Understanding of web application security principles and best practices, including XSS, CSRF, and other vulnerabilities
9. An interest in software development, staying up to date with current trends and able to translate those into solutions
10. A degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
