Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution:

- Develop and manage project plans that address immediate priorities and align with strategic goals.
- Track project progress, ensuring timely delivery while addressing dependencies and potential risks.

Team Collaboration:

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and deliverables.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging accountability and innovation.

Stakeholder Engagement:

- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining transparent and regular communication.
- Facilitate discussions to align project objectives with stakeholder expectations.

Financial Management:

- Ensure effective cost control by tracking budgets, forecasting monthly, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure timely invoicing, cash collection, and accurate financial reporting.
- Work to maintain a PS ratio of 2.0 (unless otherwise agreed) across assigned projects.

Solution-Oriented Delivery:

- Proactively address project challenges to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
- Balance cost, quality, and time constraints to deliver optimal results.
- Maintain strong relationships with product teams to support on-time and effective delivery.

Continuous Improvement:

- Identify opportunities to improve project workflows using Lean principles.
- Leverage project data to inform decisions and drive future performance enhancements.

Accountabilities

- Track project costs, identify risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure the PS ratio is maintained at a minimum of 2.0 (unless otherwise agreed) on a personal and per-project basis.
- Monitor and control costs rigorously, ensuring budgets are forecasted monthly, reviewed regularly, and updated as necessary.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure invoices are issued on time, cash is collected promptly, and financial records are accurate and transparent.
- Deliver all projects to agreed scope, time, and quality metrics, ensuring client satisfaction and organisational growth.
- Identify, analyse, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
- Maintain a business-first mindset, aligning project delivery with organisational and client objectives.
- Produce detailed, actionable reporting and insights for executive-level stakeholders, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Act as an escalation point for project-related challenges, fostering a solution-driven environment.
- Implement matrix management practices to balance project work and BAU responsibilities.
- Responsible for compliance with local legislative responsibilities and governance requirements in country including but not limited to DPO and GDPR.

- Ability to embed Lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies into project workflows for improved efficiency and reduced waste.
- Experience in applying process optimisation techniques to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Strategic and Commercial Acumen:

- Strong understanding of financial management, including cost control, P&L ownership, and maintaining a PS ratio of at least 2.0.
- Skilled in aligning project objectives with organisational strategy to maximise commercial value.

Industry Knowledge and Contextual Awareness:

- A solid working knowledge of the public transportation environment, including challenges, opportunities, and key industry drivers.
- Familiarity with delivering projects in regulated environments, ensuring compliance with local legislative requirements such as DPO and GDPR.

Leadership and Mentorship:

- Proven ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Skilled in building high-performing teams and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

- Ideally, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Demonstrated success in managing enterprise-level projects with budgets exceeding £1million, preferably within the technology, transport, or public sector.
- Certifications in Agile, PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, and Lean Six Sigma are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to apply Lean principles to streamline processes and deliver value-driven outcomes.
- Adept at bridging the gap between technical and business stakeholders, ensuring cohesive project delivery.
- Analyse project data and leverage insights to drive better decision-making and future performance improvements.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to adapt to changing environments and manage temporary responsibilities linked to ongoing change projects.
