The project:

The role is within the chief infrastructure office of a semi-state organisation in Ireland responsible for the delivery of high voltage station and circuit projects as well as upgrade and refurbishment projects on the existing transmission network. Responsibilities within this role will include managing these projects from conceptual phase through feasibility, statutory planning assessment and consent to handover for detailed design and construction phase. The role will involve a combination of office-based working and visits to sites where assets are located across the transmission network.

You'll need to have:

1. An engineering degree or technical equivalent with a minimum of 4 years' experience managing large infrastructure projects, balancing a proficiency in project management with a developed understanding of power systems.
2. Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
3. Experience conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions, or new ways of doing things.
4. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a proficiency in English required.
5. Commercial awareness with the ability to make decisions and recommendations in all aspects of project implementation.
6. Good analytical and IT skills.
7. Full driver's licence.

You'll also have:

1. Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE, IEI or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
2. Commercial and financial acumen.
3. Experience of working on projects within large, diverse teams.
4. Experience of developing and forming relationships with other stakeholders within projects.
5. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
