The Infrastructure Engineering team's mission is to provide cloud native infrastructure, automation, and tools that enable teams across Toast to deliver products in a safe, secure, and agile manner, with minimal operational dependencies.

As a DevOps Engineer II, you will be involved with platform architecture and providing automation and implementation for landing zones, as well as network and security infrastructure for new AWS regions.
You are passionate about cloud, concise, robust, and reusable infrastructure as code. You value scalable, secure systems and self-service infrastructure.

About this role (Responsibilities)

- Work within a Scrum team to create, document, and support various infrastructure as code modules.
- Create, document, and support tools and services for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of highly available infrastructure in various environments.
- Foster a culture of quality using DevOps methodologies and practices to facilitate developer velocity.
- Believe that internal tools deserve unit tests.

Do you have the right ingredients? (Requirements)

- 2-3 years experience in a DevOps/Infrastructure engineering role
- Expertise with at least one public cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure SDKs
- Expertise with Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks and SDKs (Terraform providers, Ansible modules & plugins, etc.)
- Experience maintaining large-scale infrastructure, including both production and non-production workloads.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure at scale for large tech teams.
- A desire to build a diverse, collaborative team focused on customer success.
- This role requires 2 days per week in our Dublin office

Bonus ingredients

- Proficiency in Go, Python, Java, Kotlin, or other modern object-oriented languages, with a strong understanding of testing, quality, and best practices.
- Experience leading the build and scaling of critical platform features.
- Familiarity with writing Terraform Providers.
