The Health Intelligence Specialist is a business analyst accountable for driving complex analyses that bridge the gap between business problems and technology solutions (e.g., Clinical Intelligence Platform CLIP, Unified Site Profile USP, and more…). This role mandates strong business acumen, curiosity, and steep learning agility. As a member of Health Data Insights and Design organization, you will contribute to build industry leading data-driven insights, trend analysis, competition intelligence, and breakthrough analysis using cutting-edge technologies in a product-oriented organization. Operating in a highly Agile setting, you will navigate through back/front-end applications in collaboration with the rest of the team.

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

1. Help perform data analysis, identifies business needs, defines requirements, documents processes and procedures
2. Collaborate with Health Data Insights, Transformative Design teams with a user and product-oriented mindset
3. Gather and analyze large datasets, identify key analytical opportunities and models. Transform raw data into impactful business insights, develop and optimize the data extraction, transformation, and reporting process
4. Contributes to algorithm development for precision targeting, testing, and implementing these algorithms in scalable methods. Measure and optimize the quality of those algorithms over time
5. Support work on cross-functional projects using advance modelling & analytics techniques, develop and maintain machine learning models and solutions
6. Contribute to the overall user experience and design of new solutions and services and support super user training.
7. Plans and contributes to the execution and testing of analytics applications, including validation/UAT of analytics solution, training materials and user guides
8. Support optimizing protocol design, improved patient mapping and matching, site identification and selection ultimately improving trial recruitment
9. Quality and timeliness of deliverables produced
10. Adherence to Novartis standards, in particular quality, ethical, health, safety and information security (ISEC) standards

Work Experience:

1. 3-5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology industry, or a Master's degree in Data Science, Business Intelligence, Epidemiology, Public Health or a related discipline
2. 3+ years of Industry experience in some of the following areas: predictive modelling, advanced analytics, market intelligence, strategic planning, clinical trial design or execution, feasibility or patient recruitment and business insights
3. Pharma Data Knowledge (IQVIA, Symphony, Claims, Clinical Operations (CTMS) etc.) preferred
4. Strong programming experience in Excel, Python, R, BI platforms like Qlik Sense, others
5. Previous work in patient data including clinical information systems, EMR, claims, etc.
6. Strong familiarity with clinical data coding systems and/or computer-based clinical search tools and data analytics
7. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Communicates and works with business subject matter experts and organizational leadership
8. Self-motivated with a high degree of ownership and accountability for results
9. Possess strong, resourceful research skills to locate unusual information and have capacity to develop a deep domain specific knowledge base
10. Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization and demonstrates good skills in building partnerships, negotiating agreements
11. Good knowledge of multiple core Clinical Development functions (data management, Strategy and planning, statistical programming, trial management and monitoring) preferable
12. Fluent English (written and verbal)

Education:

1. Bachelors, Masters, PhD, or equivalent experience in Life Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Medical Informatics, or Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research
