Overview Transport Manager – New Ross role at Sysco Ireland. Key Accountabilities Managing/leading the transport management and distribution team
Coordination of all Transport activities ensuring the smooth running of the depot
Responsible for efficient dispatch of all routes and products to customers on a daily basis
Coaching and motivating members of the delivery team
Liaising with sales, transport, and operation departments to resolve issues in a timely manner
Working with Sales teams to ensure effective and efficient delivery schedules
Ensuring delivery procedures and policies are adhered to; equipment breakdowns and repairs are minimised and reported; premises maintained to high standards
Maintaining company vehicles: proper maintenance, cleaning and safe operation to reduce accidents and enhance the brand
Managing Backhaul collections and ensuring adherence on a daily basis
Managing Transport Compliance to industry-leading standards
Identifying, coordinating and delivering training as appropriate
Ensuring Security and Health & Safety Procedures are adhered to at all times
Leading by example and applying company policy and procedures in a fair, consistent and unbiased manner
Requirements 3+ years' experience in a relevant management / supervisory role in a high volume, technology-driven, time-sensitive multi-drop distribution operation
Experience within the Food distribution industry is advantageous
Full driving licence; Management CPC advantageous
Competent in IT systems including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
Proven ability to manage a team to deliver the highest standards of service
Proven ability to be an effective decision maker with a hands-on approach
Ability to plan and organise own and team work activities safely, efficiently and effectively
Ability to analyse, interpret and present relevant business data
Fluent English – reading and writing
High flexibility and problem solving skills
Strong knowledge of Department of Transport regulations (Tachograph legislation, Work Time Directive, etc.)
Strong knowledge of the surrounding geographical area
