The Role
As an Equipment Electrical Design Engineer, you will report directly to the Controls Engineering Manager. Work will be concentrated on the design of innovative solutions for our multinational client base, on time, in budget while managing the complex project scope. You will be involved across a broad range of interesting projects, designing, and commissioning state of the art automated equipment for the manufacture of life saving medical devices for our discerning multinational clients.
Main Role Responsibilities
Development of new electrical designs and concepts
Evaluation of the customer specifications
Select appropriate components and materials for electrical systems.
Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant safety standards and regulations, implementing protective measures to mitigate potential hazards.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, project managers, and customers to deliver comprehensive and integrated solutions that meet customer requirements.
Perform electrical testing and troubleshooting to validate the performance and functionality of designs.
Perform EQ’s, machine power up checks, quality checks, support projects and workshop functionality.
Set-up and commission machines after power up is complete.
Offer technical support to estimation, procurement, commercial, and project bid teams.
Contribute to project meetings and provide regular progress reports for stakeholders.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Third level qualification in electrical/electronic engineering, electrical apprenticeship, or other relevant electrical design related discipline
1-3 years’ experience in an electrical design role or relevant exposure to electrical systems
Working knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS ELECTRICAL) and electrical simulation tools an advantage but not essential
Proactive, excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with others in a multifunctional project team.
Understanding of safety standards and regulations relevant to electrical systems.
Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative
