The Role As a utility company we have a large amount of data from our growing customer base and trading teams. We are seeking a Microsoft SQL Server Developer to share our vision to deliver the best possible value from this data. The SQL Server Developer will work with the Software Development Team to design, implement, improve, and maintain databases, database objects, queries over multiple databases and servers. The Developer should have experience in working with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS. Key Responsibilities Creating new database objects such as tables, queries, stored procedures, triggers, indices, constraints, views, and user-defined functions. Extending and improving existing functionality and documentation on existing databases. Participating in an Agile / Scrum process. Working with our DBA to improve existing database code and logic. Developing and documenting new database functionality on existing databases. Ensuring data quality and integrity across systems. Creating and maintaining ETL processes utilising SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Creating and maintaining reports utilising SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). Providing technical support to the various internal departments on all team software. Working with the Software Development and Trading Teams, to understand business requirements and to assist in providing relevant new database functionality. Required Skills & Experience At least 4 years' experience in MS-SQL Server development. Understanding of database performance tuning and optimisation concepts to produce optimally performing code. Strong logical and creative problem-solving skills. Advantageous Skills Experience with Visual Studio database projects and Source Control. Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD.
