The Role

The successful candidate will work on a varied portfolio of clients and groups, some with complex tax affairs, ensuring both excellent client service and identification of further work opportunities. The role will include undertaking the more complex compliance work, supporting junior team members and reviewing work undertaken by them and working on a variety of advisory projects. In addition, they will have the opportunity to assist the partners and directors by involvement in business development opportunities, proposals and networking events.

The role will entail working with a diverse client portfolio, with a key focus being the provision of tax services to international companies helping them to deal with a wide range of Irish and International tax matters. The Company works with clients operating in a wide variety of sectors including technology, internet and media, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, retail and consumer, and manufacturing. The successful candidate should have a proven track record in managing client relationships, delivering solutions to clients and building teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Building and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of clients and providing a high standard of client service, with a core focus on internationally active clients.
2. Opportunity to work with partners and directors on advisory projects including M&A, due-diligence, IP planning, and reorganization assignments.
3. Coordinating and collaborating with other Company member firms on cross-border projects and business development initiatives.
4. Managing the tax compliance obligations on a portfolio of corporate clients (predominantly internationally focused businesses) and leading the delivery of high-quality tax compliance services to those clients.
5. Contributing to the operational management of the corporate tax department, including certain business development initiatives.
6. Providing mentorship to junior staff, and work on attracting, developing, and retaining the best talents for the firm.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

1. ITI and ACA / ACCA qualified.
2. At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in a management role in a tax practice or industry.
3. Experience in managing a corporate client portfolio with strong commercial expertise.
4. Strong technical skills to deliver corporate tax advisory services.
5. Prior experience of working with FDI cases (desirable but not essential).
6. Team player with experience in managing staff.
7. Excellent communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal and leadership skills.
8. Strong Microsoft applications skills; Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
