Overview Clinical Specialist Speech & Language Therapist for Stroke Services – We are seeking a candidate to join our client who specialises in acute services in Louth . This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the assessment and rehabilitation of stroke patients across acute and rehabilitation settings.
About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care while working within a multidisciplinary team. The role will focus on assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for communication and swallowing disorders in stroke patients, contributing to improved patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Conduct specialist assessments and interventions for stroke patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
Provide expert clinical decision-making in complex cases.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams in acute and rehabilitation settings.
Develop care pathways that optimise patient recovery.
Support service development, clinical research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to SLT colleagues.
Stay up to date with best practices and emerging research in stroke rehabilitation.
Requirements CORU registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
Minimum 5 years post-registration experience, including 4 years in stroke rehabilitation.
Recognised dysphagia qualification in line with IASLT standards.
Experience in Videofluoroscopic Swallowing Studies (VFS) is desirable.
Strong clinical leadership, research, and service development experience.
Access to own transport is desirable.
