Overview

We have fantastic opportunities in our centralised Finance Operations function for candidates who are highly motivated, with a strong accounting background and capability. The positions offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work as part of a large finance team in the Accounting & Reporting area. Our teams in this area are responsible for financial accounting and treasury accounting for the ESB Group and its Business Units.

Key Responsibilities

- Period close, consolidation and reconciliation activities at Group and Business Unit level.
- Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and ESB Group annual and interim report.
- Co-ordination of the annual audit process, engagement with external auditors and delivery of outputs to key internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and customers including corporate teams, financial planning & analysis team, business units and external auditors.
- Providing technical accounting support to Corporate and Business Units.
- Monitoring accounting (IFRS), technical and commercial developments and advising on their impact on the financial close of the Group.
- Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and various projects within the Accounting & Reporting function.

Experience and Qualifications

- Newly qualified/1+ year PQE with recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA)
- High level of technical accounting competency and strong analytical skills.
- Highly motivated – able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong IT skills - knowledge of SAP/S4 Hana would be preferable.

Location

This position will be based in ESB’s Head Office, Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2.

Up to €56,600 depending on experience
