Overview:
My client is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to support the Financial Controller in managing daily accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will work independently, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and have a solid understanding of accounting or bookkeeping practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile insurer accounts and resolve queries via phone/email.
- Handle payments, refunds, and credit control, including cash, bank, and credit card transactions.
- Prepare and balance cash books, bank lodgements, and petty cash.
- Follow up on aged debtors and manage financial reporting for new business, renewals, and lapses.
- Support month-end account reconciliations with the Financial Controller.
- General office administration, including filing, data entry, and responding to staff and insurer queries.
Requirements:
- Experience in accounts or insurance brokerage (preferred but not essential).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
