Our client, a long established multinational utility contractor in maintenance and construction of Electrical and Telecommunications infrastructure, is hiring a Tendering Electrical Engineer to join the team. This is a hybrid role with flexibility on location in Ireland; multiple offices across the country.

Overview
The electrical engineer will work on major Power, Renewable & Substation project tenders. You will be responsible for undertaking and managing all electrical engineering requirements and deliverables on substation and renewable project tenders, ensuring that all electrical engineering elements of tender submissions meet the required client/Eirgrid/ESB tender specifications.

Responsibilities

Function as a Tendering Electrical Engineer within the Tendering Team.

Review and familiarise yourself with project employers requirements, specifications, and preliminary drawings & calculations.

Own electrical engineering tender requirements as part of the tender submission; identify and mitigate risk and understand the commercial fundamentals of a project and tender submission.

Work with the tendering team, operations, engineering and commercial teams to prepare tender submissions.

Coordinate electrical, civil, cable and OHL engineering interfaces during the tender process.

Engage with equipment vendors, design consultants and other third parties; review offers for technical compliance and commercial competitiveness.

Provide input into the tender program and engineering budget from an engineering and electrical design perspective.

Ensure compliance with relevant standards/regulations; support business development and client liaison where required.

Contribute as part of a multidisciplinary design team, taking responsibility for tender electrical engineering outputs.

Support operations and project teams in handover of a successful tender; keep up to date on innovative technologies and build techniques to improve cost and timescales.

Qualifications

Experience Needed: Degree in Electrical Engineering. 3+ years of industry experience in substations, high & medium voltage, and renewables projects.

Experience of the tendering process and producing technical tender submissions.

Knowledge of the substation, utilities, and renewables sector.

Experience with AutoCAD and ePlan.

Knowledge of ESB/Eirgrid specifications & design requirements is an advantage.

Good comprehension of design/construction interfaces; strong client-facing, communication and organisational skills.
