High Salary: CHIEF ENGINEER

Principal Connections has been retained by a progressive and future-focused mobility provider to lead the search for the senior appointment of Chief Engineer and Infrastructure Director. THE POSITION Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Engineer and Infrastructure Director will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for engineering and infrastructure operations across multiple locations. This role is key to ensuring safety, reliability, and full regulatory compliance throughout all technical functions. The successful candidate will lead the transformation of engineering and infrastructure through strategic planning, budget management, and a strong focus on sustainability. With an emphasis on stakeholder engagement, operational excellence, and a high-performance culture, the Director will be instrumental in delivering exceptional services while maintaining the highest standards of safety, innovation, and accountability. REQUIREMENTS Suitably qualified and interested candidates must hold a level 8 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, with a postgraduate qualification preferred, and possess extensive senior-level experience in engineering management within a large commercial organisation. Experience in safety-critical, regulated environments is desirable. A proven track record of inspirational leadership, driving cultural change, and maintaining the highest safety standards is essential. Key competencies include leadership, strong commercial and financial acumen, and a customer-focused approach. Candidates must demonstrate excellent decision-making skills, stakeholder management expertise, and a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks. Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to lead high-performing teams through complex challenges are also critical to success in this role.
