Galway, Galway, Ireland CPL Full time
Job Title: Calibration & Metrology Technician (Level III)

One of our clients is currently hiring a Calibration & Metrology Technician (Level III) on a first shift. Our client is a global leader in the medical technology industry, and your work contributes directly to improving lives. This is an opportunity to be part of a mission-driven organization that develops life-changing innovations for patients around the world. You'll work in a clean, regulated, and high-tech environment where quality, precision, and teamwork drive everything we do.

About the Role

In this critical role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of a broad range of measurement equipment—supporting product quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This is a great fit for an experienced technician who thrives in a regulated environment, enjoys solving technical problems, and is passionate about precision.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on a wide variety of equipment: electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, pressure, and hydro-mechanical.
- Ensure calibration activities conform to detailed technical specifications, drawings, and internal standards.
- Set up and execute calibration procedures and sequences, interpreting data and making necessary adjustments.
- Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble test equipment such as gauges, meters, and other measuring devices.
- Maintain and document calibration records in compliance with internal procedures and industry standards (e.g., ISO 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540).
- Support audits and inspections by ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Propose and implement improvements to calibration processes and workflows.
- Serve as a technical mentor and resource for junior technicians.
- Participate in small-scale technical projects, developing reports and presenting findings.

Who You Are

- A seasoned technician with a strong foundation in calibration and metrology.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, but also a strong collaborator across engineering, quality, and production teams.
- Someone who values accuracy, consistency, and compliance in all aspects of technical work.
- A clear communicator with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on calibration/metrology experience in a regulated industry (medical device, biotech, pharma, aerospace, etc.).
- Strong understanding of testing methods, measurement standards, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency with calibration equipment and software (e.g., Fluke, Agilent, CMMS systems).
- Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and SOPs.
- Vocational or technical education in electronics, instrumentation, engineering technology, or equivalent experience.
- Certification (e.g., ASQ CCT) is a plus but not required.

What We Offer

- Competitive pay and non-exempt overtime eligibility.
- Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, tuition reimbursement, etc.).
- Career development and advancement opportunities within a global organization.
- The chance to work on products that truly make a difference in patients' lives.
- A supportive and inclusive culture focused on innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.
