Key job responsibilities
As a System Development Engineer, you will/may:
1. Use technology to solve straightforward problems, seeking input and guidance from team members.
2. Create or have responsibility to improve or intent small tools or applications.
3. Participate in team design, scoping, process, and prioritization discussions.
4. Work effectively with customers and/or internal partners to understand business impacts and identify any opportunities/problems arising from technical decisions.
5. Invent, refine, and develop your solutions to ensure they are meeting customer needs and team goals.
6. Develop an understanding of the maintenance characteristics, runtime properties, and dependencies of your team's infrastructure, including hardware platform, operating system, and build dependencies.
7. Provide assistance to the team with troubleshooting, researching the root cause, and thoroughly resolving defects in the event of a problem.

We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.
