Structural Engineers

About the roles:

DBFL are seeking enthusiastic Structural Engineers with experience to join our dynamic Team. With an expanding workload across a variety of sectors, we can offer the successful candidates broad experience across a wide range of public and private sector projects. Opportunities are available across our offices in Dublin and Galway.

Key roles and responsibilities:

The successful candidates will also have a requirement to liaise with the internal project team, the wider design team and contractors and should therefore have good communication skills and an ability to work well in a team dynamic.

- A strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principals.

- Demonstrable buildings-focused structural engineering design skills.

- A desire to work constructively in a team, finding holistic building design solutions in a multidiscipline environment.

- Performing site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, and adherence to specifications.

- Ability to understand commercial implications of design decisions and desire to strive for efficient structural solutions.

- IT skills and experience in the use of MS Office. Experience in CAD and structural analysis software is an added advantage.

- The ability to communicate clearly, through sketching, speaking and in writing.

- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance tasks and prioritise to meet strict deadlines.

Desired qualifications and requirements:

- At least 3 to 6 years structural engineering experience

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Minimum Level 8 Civil / Structural Engineering Degree (Hons) and working towards Chartered status with Engineers Ireland

- Customer-focused with growing client relationship management skills

- Ability to mentor junior staff in developing their own technical expertise.

- Display leadership qualities and a desire to develop client relationships.

- A current driver’s licence is desirable.
