Junior Sous Chef

Overview

Our client is one of the best hotels in the region boasting an excellent reputation for its restaurant food and are booming banqueting business. In response to business growth they're creating this junior sous chef position as additional support to the head chef and senior sous chef. They are taking a pragmatic approach to this appointment and are giving serious consideration to chefs whose most senior role in the kitchen to date has been at chef de partie level, with a preference for chefs with a strong pedigree in hotel kitchens, ideally kitchens with a similar mix of business to theirs. The hotel occupies a prominent location in the sunny southeast; it/'s a lovely place to live.

Responsibilities

- Provide support to the head chef and senior sous chef in daily kitchen operations.
- Assist in menu planning, ordering, and maintaining quality standards across hotel and banqueting services.
- Contribute to a positive kitchen environment and mentoring of junior staff where applicable.

Qualifications

- Experience at junior sous chef level is preferred.
- Strong pedigree in hotel kitchens, ideally with a mix of hotel and banqueting experience.
- Experience at chef de partie level will be considered, with a clear path to progression to sous chef.
- Eligibility to work in the host country if applying from abroad.
