About the Role: Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) are currently recruiting for a motivated and detail-oriented IT Junior Administrator / Technician to support our internal IT operations. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in IT, offering hands-on experience in system administration, technical support, and infrastructure maintenance. This role is being offered as a 2-year fixed term contract, with the opportunity for extension. About the Organisation: HSI is recognised as the National Governing Body for the Irish Sport Horse sector. HSI unites equestrian sport and sport horse breeding under one governing body and is responsible for devising and implementing strategies for the development and promotion of an internationally competitive Irish equestrian industry, covering high-performance sport, breeding and production, coaching and education, sport and recreation. HSIs funding partners are the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), Sport Ireland, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and Sport Northern Ireland. Job Purpose: To support the IT department by assisting in the maintenance of systems, networks, and applications, while also contributing to the quality assurance process through software testing. This dual role ensures smooth IT operations and helps deliver reliable software solutions. Key Responsibilities: Provide first-line technical support to staff via phone, email, and in person. Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems. Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks. Troubleshoot system and network issues, diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults. Support the setup of new devices and ensure proper configuration. Maintain IT documentation and inventory records. Assist with data backups and recovery procedures. Collaborate with senior IT staff on projects and upgrades. Ensure compliance with IT policies and security protocols. Skills and Experience Essential: Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field. Basic understanding of Windows and/or Linux operating systems. Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and common business applications. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Ability to follow procedures accurately and to meet deadlines effectively. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Desirable: Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy (desirable) Knowledge of the equine industry is an advantage but not essential.
