The Role

A MDU Build Inspector plays a key role in the telecommunications and infrastructure industry, particularly in deploying fibre optics and broadband services. MDU stands for Multiple Dwelling Unit, referring to buildings with multiple residential units, such as apartment complexes or condominiums. The MDU Build Inspector role focuses on overseeing and ensuring the quality of network infrastructure installations in these buildings.

Role Requirements

- Demonstrable supervisory experience in the construction/telecoms/cable industry

- Track record of effectively delivering results through others within tight timelines and to a consistently high standard

- Demonstrable previous experience in supervising outsourced contractor activities

- Exceptional communication, influencing, negotiation and report writing skills.

- IT literate in MS Office applications

- Proven ability to influence effectively at all levels within the business

Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

- Responsibility for day-to-day liaison with the MDU build partners to ensure that MDU targets are delivered and in line with the MDU build program schedule

- Be a point of contact for and resolve designated construction issues with the MDU team

- Tracking build progress and report

- Attending weekly progress meetings with MDU build partners and MDU team

- Ensure all MDU network is built to client specifications

- Liaise with the quality department to ensure timely delivery of completed units and maintain project progression

- Reporting to customer MDU Build Supervisor

- Liaison with client and Design partners to ensure optimum design efficiency

- Sample check completed network build MDUs to ensure full compliance

The Person:

- Methodical in organisation + task prioritisation

- Articulate

- Positive and creative mindset

- Problem solver

- Minimum 5 years previous construction organisational experience, preferably within the Telecoms Industry

- Decision Making based on rationalisation of facts

- Full + Clean driving License

- Contractor liaison + Contractor Supervision

- Computer literate, preferably with Microsoft Office experience.

- Effective + accountable, self-motivated

Working Conditions:

- The position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.

- May involve extended periods of standing, walking, and physical activity.

- Flexible working hours may be required to meet project deadlines or address emergencies.
