The Role: The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day packaging activities, managing a team of technicians and shift leads to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of finished goods to global markets. This role will focus on driving performance, leading continuous improvement initiatives, supporting validation and inspection readiness, and fostering a high-performing, flexible team culture. The Packaging Operations Team Lead will act as the primary escalation point for operational issues and play a key role in product launches, process validation, and regulatory engagement. Responsibilities: Manage and develop a team of packaging technicians and shift leads, ensuring effective communication, coaching, and performance management. Coordinate daily packaging operations, allocating resources and maintaining adherence to production schedules and delivery targets. Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Validation teams to support safe and compliant operations. Oversee daily packaging metrics such as schedule adherence, changeover performance, and downtime reporting. Drive a strong safety and quality culture, ensuring compliance with cGMP, EH&S, and site policies. Ensure training records, SOPs, and master batch documentation are accurate, current, and compliant. Collaborate with Engineering and Validation teams to maintain and revalidate equipment and processes, ensuring consistent operational performance. Apply lean manufacturing and Right-First-Time principles to enhance productivity and process efficiency. Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of packaging personnel. Represent the Packaging function in daily operations and cross-functional meetings. Contribute to packaging optimisation and capital improvement initiatives aligned with the site's strategic master plan. Requirements: Degree in Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience in a GMP environment). Proven experience in managing packaging or manufacturing teams within a regulated industry. Strong understanding of GMP, process validation, and continuous improvement methodologies. Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams. Experience collaborating cross-functionally and supporting regulatory inspections. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Familiarity with quality management systems such as Trackwise and exposure to Lean/Six Sigma tools is an advantage. Why Join Catalyx?
