Accounting Manager - Open-Ended Funds
Department: Fund Administration
Employment Type: Full Time Permanent
The successful applicant will maintain client relationships, coordinate and allocate the team’s workload, and ensure compliance with internal and external controls in hedge fund accounting. Experience in auditing or administration of hedge funds and a demonstrated knowledge of the fund industry are required. Geneva experience would be advantageous.
Responsibilities Detailed review of the reconciliation and calculation of periodic (daily/weekly/monthly) net asset values of various funds, including:
Reconciliation of investment portfolios, dividends and interest, corporate actions, and investor capital activity
Dealing with requests from and communicating with the investment manager and investors regarding all aspects of the account’s operation
Updating accounting and client relationship management systems, verifying statistical information, overseeing financial statements preparation, and working with external auditors
Review of hybrid fee structures calculation at each NAV
Oversight of outsourced offices and their relationships, ensuring timely and accurate NAV calculation and client-specific reporting
Liaise with Investment Managers, Auditors, Brokers, Custodians, and Investors
Ensure client enquiries are answered in accordance with Apex service standards
Process client cash instructions (e.g., fund expense payments)
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and fund specifications
Meet internal deadlines for reporting and MIS
Ensure accurate internal revenue reporting
Supervise, train, and recruit accounting staff; delegate work across the team; maintain effective communication with colleagues
Qualifications & Skills At least 3+ years’ extensive fund accounting experience; supervision of teams is a plus
University degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics (or overseas equivalent)
Experience with general ledger accounting
Strong computer skills including Excel and Word; proficiency in advanced Excel desirable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Critical and objective-thinking abilities
Willingness to work additional hours as needed
Geneva experience would be advantageous
