Sr. Software Engineer - Risk Platform (IRE, UK or ROU, Remote) As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. We’re on a mission to stop breaches and run on a scalable, AI-native platform. We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Falcon Exposure Management team. You’ll help design and build the foundational risk platform that powers our cybersecurity solutions, working with Golang, microservices, and diverse database ecosystems to deliver visibility into risks, management features and prioritization workflows.
The team builds and maintains the Risk platform within the Exposure Management pillar, offering a single pane of glass by aggregating risks across an organization. You’ll work in a globally distributed, fault-tolerant, highly scalable cloud environment that integrates risks from CrowdStrike internal providers and third-party sources.
As a technical leader, you’ll drive end-to-end product delivery, architect scalable solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define priorities and scope. Your work will influence the cybersecurity landscape and advance exposure management practices.

What You'll Do Backend Architecture and Development: design and develop scalable backend services powering internal and customer-facing applications; build and maintain APIs, microservices, and data pipelines; collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize requirements.
Cloud Infrastructure and Operations: design and implement cloud solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP) with emphasis on scalability, security and high availability; automate deployment, monitoring and maintenance; ensure security and regulatory compliance.
Database Management and Data Engineering: implement RDBMS/SQL, NoSQL, and distributed caching (Redis); build data pipelines and ETL processes; ensure data security and compliance.
System Troubleshooting and Performance Optimization: diagnose and resolve issues in distributed architectures; implement monitoring and logging to improve visibility and debugging; prioritize performance improvements.
Collaboration and Technical Leadership: mentor engineers, collaborate with UX/UI and other teams, contribute to technical vision and strategy.
Operational Excellence and Service Reliability: configure monitoring and alerting; maintain high availability; develop incident response plans and cross-functional collaboration to drive operational excellence.

What You'll Need 8+ years of production experience building, delivering, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems handling high-volume data
Advanced programming expertise in object-oriented languages with strong typing (Golang, Python, or similar)
Proven microservices experience with designing scalable REST APIs and distributed communication patterns
Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge with major providers (AWS preferred, plus Azure and GCP)
Solid distributed systems understanding, including concurrency, parallel processing, and scalability patterns
Message queue proficiency (Kafka or similar)
Database versatility across RDBMS/SQL, distributed data stores (ElasticSearch, Cassandra) and Redis
System troubleshooting expertise for complex distributed architectures
Engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, and resilient architecture design
Collaborative technical skills with ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decisions
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent professional experience
Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures and problem-solving
Bonus Qualifications Practical experience with Golang, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, SQL, Redis
Prior experience in cybersecurity or intelligence fields
Graph database knowledge and experience with graph structures
Open source contributions or technical community involvement
Docker and Kubernetes experience
Passion for cybersecurity if you don’t have all qualifications
