Overview

Our client is a leading global company based in Dublin. With a strong commitment to innovation and excellence, they continue to expand their operations across the globe. To support their dynamic finance team, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accountant specialising in cost accounting and supply chain management.

You will play a pivotal role in optimising their cost accounting processes and enhancing the efficiency of their supply chain operations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide strategic financial insights, implement cost-saving initiatives, and ensure compliance with international accounting standards.

Responsibilities

- Cost Accounting:

- Conduct in-depth analysis of cost structures and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.

- Implement and maintain robust cost accounting systems and procedures.

- Provide regular reports and insights on cost variances, trends, and key performance indicators.

- Supply Chain Management:

- Collaborate with supply chain teams to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.

- Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate favourable terms to optimize procurement costs.

- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and disruptions.

- Financial Planning and Analysis:

- Work closely with finance teams to develop accurate financial forecasts and budgets.

- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making processes.

- Conduct scenario analyses to assess the impact of various financial and operational strategies.

- Compliance and Reporting:

- Ensure compliance with international accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

- Prepare and submit accurate financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.

- Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.

Qualifications

- Qualified Accountant
- Proven experience in cost accounting and supply chain management, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across diverse teams.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, ideally SAP but not a pre requisite, and advanced Excel skills.
