Principle Ecologist Location: South Dublin / Hybrid 1 day per month office based. Optimize Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading Irish ecology specific consultancy to recruit a Principal Ecologist for their Dublin office. Joining a team of 25+ ecologists, this is a senior-level role offering hybrid working options. The company is committed to professional excellence, with many team members being active members of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). New employees are supported in achieving full membership, using the CIEEM competency framework to guide career development. Key responsibilities will include: Lead and mentor a team of ecologists, fostering a positive and collaborative culture. Deliver high-quality ecological services and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Manage complex projects from inception to completion, including client liaison and reporting. Contribute to strategic planning and service development. Maintain and enhance technical standards across the ecology team. Requirements include: 7+ years of experience in ecological consultancy or a related field. Leadership and team management skills would be advantageous (excellent supports in place). Strong technical knowledge of ecological legislation and fieldwork practices. Excellent communication and project management abilities. Passion for mentoring and developing others.
