Applications are invited for the following position: Project-worker, CASP Community Substance Misuse Team Based in the Mid-West. The successful candidate will need to: Hold a recognized third level qualification in Addiction, Social/Health, Care/Community Development, Social Work, Mental Health or Psychology. Have a minimum of 3 years post qualification work experience in the areas of Substance Misuse and related issues, Community Development, Health & Social Care, or related social work, adolescent services. Hold a full clean Drivers Licence with adequate business insurance cover. Have a working knowledge of Statutory, Community and Voluntary organisationsworking practices and effective inter-agency work. Have a working knowledge of related legislative and governing strategic objectives in relation to substance misuse and services for under 18s. Work within child protection guidelines and legislation and being accountable to Team Leader/CEO. Have the ability to work independently and on own initiative. To have a high standard of written and verbal communication skills. Evidence of flexibility in working within multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral teams. Excellent interpersonal and group work skills. Have the knowledge and work with evidence-based practices including ACRA, CRAFT, SFP, MI, 5 Step Model in working with adolescents and family members. Have a good working knowledge of data collection systems Salesforce, HRB Link system and with experience in IT Skills i.e., Excel, Word and PowerPoint. The post holder will be required to execute the following RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Direct Client Work Engage with young people, family members and caregivers across the Mid-West to build empowering, respectful, and trust-based relationships. Maintain a caseload of young people and families, providing both individual and group support as outlined in their care plans. Support young people and families using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. Encourage independence, resilience, and self-reliance among young people and family members. Assist young people and families in accessing wider opportunities in social activities, education, employment, and community engagement. Implement the Meitheal model to improve outcomes for young people and families. Programme Development and Delivery Facilitate evidence-based group programmes with young people and family members. Evaluate programmes regularly and recommend improvements based on emerging needs. Identify service gaps and propose new initiatives to support young people and families. Stay up to date on best practices and current developments in addiction and family support work. Interagency Collaboration and Teamwork Collaborate with a range of statutory and community services to support holistic family needs. Actively participate in internal CASP CSMT team meetings and case reviews. Represent CASP CSMT at interagency meetings and contribute constructively working with the team to produce set targets and outcomes as agreed with the Mid Western Regional Drug and Alcohol Forum and the HSE, through our current annual SLA agreement. Promote CASP CSMT within the community. Administration and Professional Practice Maintain accurate and confidential written and electronic records. Comply with CASP's Children First Policy and safeguarding standards. Work within professional, legal, and ethical boundaries. Contribute to ongoing service review and development. Participate in regular supervision and performance appraisals. Engage in continuing professional development relevant to the role. Perform other duties as may be required in line with the post. This is a part-time post (14 hours) with some occasional evening and weekend work required. This post is offered on a nine month/one-year fixed term contract (maternity cover). A 6-month probationary period is standard. A panel may be formed from which all future vacancies will be filled.
