Senior Platform Engineer We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join our cloud platform team on a contract basis. This role focuses on building and maintaining robust AWS cloud environments, automating workflows, and supporting secure, high-availability systems. Day Rate Contract, Hybrid Working (Dublin City Centre) Responsibilities: Build and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure to support critical applications. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to deliver reliable cloud solutions. Automate deployments, monitoring, and compliance tasks to improve operational efficiency. Promote secure and resilient cloud practices across the platform. Guide and mentor team members on platform engineering best practices. Keep up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements. Required Experience: 5+ years in reliability engineering (AWS) Proven experience designing production-grade cloud environments in regulated industries. Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, identity, and governance. Skilled in scripting/programming (Python, Go, Shell, etc.) and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform. Familiar with CI/CD, GitOps, and automated cloud deployment pipelines. Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes/EKS). Knowledge of multi-account cloud setups, zero-trust security models, encryption, and key management. Hands-on experience with monitoring, observability, and cost/performance optimization in cloud environments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
