My client, Irelands leading Civil Engineering contractors are now searching for an Assistant Civils Estimator to join their team in Cork. Supporting the Bid Team in preparing cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including analysing plans and specifications, preparing cost estimates for labour, materials, and equipment, and evaluating subcontractors and suppliers.May also be involved in preparing cost reports, reviewing bids, and assisting with client communication. Role: Analysing Project Plans and Specifications:Understanding project requirements from drawings and specifications. Cost Estimation:Calculating labour, material, and equipment costs for various project elements. Subcontractor and Supplier Evaluation:Researching and evaluating potential subcontractors and suppliers. Cost Report Preparation:Compiling cost reports and summaries. Bid Review:Assisting in reviewing bids and making recommendations for awards. Communication:Communicating with clients and project stakeholders Requirements: Ideally a graduate or 1-2 years of experience as an Engineer or Quantity Surveyor A related Degree (e.g. Civil Engineering, Construction Management etc) Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications. Ability to analyse costs, project risks, and market conditions. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
