Overall scope:
We are seeking a Horticultural Product Manager to join our Head Office team.
New Product Development revenue & profitability management. Full-time Permanent Office based.
Reports to:
General Manager
Key internal and external relationships:
Internal relationships – Production, Operations, Quality, Sales and Technical. External interactions across supply partners, and when required Government departments.
Key responsibilities
- Refine and execute the new Product Development (NPD) product procurement strategy.
- Lead the NPD product range from planning, cataloguing through to finished product dispatch and own the associated revenue, input costs, and profitability streams.
- Analyse NPD performance, track sales & waste, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Support the development of product range and ensure it meets customer requirements and market demand.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Production, Operations, Commercial Key Account Managers, Finance & Quality) on product and supplier-related matters.
- Drive process optimisation within the NPD product portfolio, ensuring efficiencies are under constant review and cost-controls are identified and realised.
- Organise the NPD product planning calendar and lead the negotiations.
- Notify relevant internal and supply partner stakeholders of awarded contracts and lock in volumes and associated critical path planning required to meet on sale dates (OSD’s).
- Carry out market analysis and identify opportunities and weaknesses in Uniplumo range and competitor range.
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in business administration, FMCG, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a procurement, category management, or sourcing role, preferably within FMCG supplier B2C wholesale or retail role.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and financial reporting tools (Excel etc.).
- Proven ability to negotiate and manage supplier relationships.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
- A proactive, solution focussed and adaptable approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced seasonally demanding, and evolving environment.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel occasionally, as needed.
