Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
The Centre of Micro/nano Manufacturing Technology (www.mnmt-dublin.org) has been established at University College Dublin (UCD) to deliver high-impact, innovative science and engineering research since 2016. MNMT-Dublin has a particular focus on instrument development and high precision manufacturing combined with optical and bio-medical technologies applied in optical image, visual optics, and bio-medical implants. The Centre brings together a multi-disciplinary team of over 20 PhD and Post-Doc researchers in manufacturing engineering, instrumentation, and optics, in both fundamental and translational research.
Project Description: Bio-Man is a government funded project aimed at developing high-precision manufacturing technology for optical and bio-medical applications. The project scope covers high precision machining, micro/nano fabrication, and surface finishing.
This is a research-focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by training and development under the supervision and direction of the Principal Investigator.
The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic journals, the development of funding proposals, mentorship of graduate students, and the opportunity to develop your skills in research-led teaching.
Salary: €44,847 per annum
