Job Description
As a Lead Principal System Engineer for the IO subsystem of our automotive microcontroller, you will take ownership of the process from defining product requirements to handing over to the design team, working closely with technical marketing, system architecture, development, product development, technology development, and chip-package co-design.
In your new role you will:
- Define new high-speed interfacing architecture for functional components and transfer requirements to our development teams
- Be the lead engineer for the high-speed memory interfaces (LPDDR)
- Drive system-level understanding and consistent behavior across multiple silicon derivatives and packaging variants
- Contribute to the IO configuration concept, support pad multiplexing strategies, and drive alignment across system-level peripheral integration
- Be the interface between our application engineering and development teams and drive active knowledge transfer
- Ensure the right sourcing strategy of high-speed communication interfaces based on our application assumptions together with the platform architects
- Serve as the Technical Interface for both internal and external IP providers, taking responsibility for the following activities:
- Managing technical topics within the IP analysis phase
- Identifying synergies between different IPs
- Supporting interactions with internal IP providers and pad-frame development teams
- Challenging requirements to achieve the best area-power-performance ratio
- Ensuring cost competitiveness and compatibility with automotive quality and safety requirements
- Owning and creating technical documentation to provide functional descriptions and guarantee ISO 26262 compliance
- Sharing implementation know-how with others
Your Profile
You are a team player who communicates flexibly and proactively within cross-functional teams. With strong problem-solving skills and solid technical expertise, you are ready to drive innovation and contribute to meaningful solutions.
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- A Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field
- At least 8 years of experience as a concept, design, and system engineer for microcontroller or SoC based products
- Experience in the definition and integration of LPDDR interface
- Key expertise with different high-speed interfaces in Automotive, Consumer and Networking applications
- Expertise with implementing high-speed clock and power supply and as well floorplan & physical constraints
- Solid knowledge of microcontroller system architectures and peripheral integration
- Familiarity with automotive microcontroller architecture and open eyes & ears for market trends
