What’s the role? We are looking for a Senior Regulatory Accountant. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") of Etsy Payments Ireland Limited ("EPIL"), Etsy, Inc.’s EEA payments subsidiary. EPIL is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland ("CBI") as a payments institution under the EU (Payments Services) Regulations, 2018. The Senior Regulatory Accountant will be accountable for the day‑to‑day management and delivery of the regulatory reporting requirements of the company and will support the EPIL Finance team in ensuring the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. As an integral member of the Etsy Controllers group you will have exposure to a wide variety of rewarding challenges. What’s this team like at Etsy? This team plays an important role in supporting Etsy’s broader financial operations. We work cross‑functionally with a variety of teams across the business and contribute to projects that help drive efficiency, accuracy, and scale. What does the day‑to‑day look like? - Ownership of financial regulatory reporting requirements for EPIL - Support EPIL Management team in the creation, maintenance and implementation of financial risk management policies in line with regulatory requirements - Support the EPIL Finance team in the management of all Capital requirements of the regulated payments subsidiary ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements - Ownership and development of the safeguarding process, identifying key data points and supporting the build out of those data points in order to ensure a robust safeguarding process that is in compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies. - Proactively collaborate with partner teams in outsourced functions to understand any proposed changes that may impact the regulated business and reporting requirements e.g. changes in processes, products, external partners or new payment methods. - Manage the day‑to‑day US GAAP reporting obligations including month end close, balance sheet reconciliations & analytics. - Ownership of local Statutory compliance: management of audit & preparation of Financial Statements - Support the EPIL Management team with any Central Bank inspections and/or requests - Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law. Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are: - Professional Accounting Qualification required - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or local country equivalent - Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience working within a regulated environment. Large Tech/Big 4 experience is a plus. - Working knowledge of EU Regulation and regulatory reporting requirements e.g CBI Reporting Requirements for Payment Institutions, EBA guidelines and PSD2 - Ideally you have an operational knowledge of payments, and an ability to understand industry and regulatory changes and how those impact the regulated entity. - High energy level, with a demonstrable hands‑on approach, and who thrives in a fast‑paced dynamic environment - Strong analytical skills - Excellent attention to detail - Strong Excel skills - Exposure to Workday &/or another ERP systems is an advantage - Experience of process improvement & project management - You are highly organised and adapt quickly to change. - You are confident working independently and following tasks through to completion and meeting commitments, whilst actively seeking support as necessary - You have excellent communications skills and the ability to build remote relationships. - Fluent in written and spoken English. Bilingual in a second language is a plus.
