About this opportunity:

The ADP NM Hub develops some of the services that are part of Ericsson Application Development Platform. We are enabling the adoption of Cloud Native Technologies across the Ericsson Portfolio. You will work in a software development team based in Athlone, Ireland on a hybrid basis that will develop and deliver cloud native microservices on a regular cadence. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the most experienced software developers in Ericsson, across our entire portfolio and across a number of countries. You will work with cutting edge development technologies including the latest evolutions of development languages and tools including Gen AI and Internal Developer Platforms to make your daily tasks easier. You will design solutions for new features on our microservices that your team will own.

This is a hybrid position (3 days per week on site) based at our Ireland Athlone Office.

What you will do:

1. Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software
2. Work as part of a team to meet the team deliverables & goals
3. Enhance product quality and user experience
4. Work with Software Architects and Technology Experts on the development and evolution of our technology
5. Develop and deepen your technology experience and soft skills to become a brilliant software developer

The skills you bring:

1. 2-6 years experience developing software applications, with microservice development preferred.
2. Experience of the Java software development language, including Enterprise or Spring framework.
3. Experience of test automation with industry standard automation frameworks preferred for example junit, spock framework or robot framework.
4. Experience in Docker/Containerisation and Kubernetes, including some knowledge of Helm
5. Be able to whiteboard technical solutions with your team mates and technology experts (C4 diagrams, UML, Flowcharts)
6. Knowledge of message bus technologies such as Apache Kafka or databases and data management.
7. Knowledge of scripting to solve certain application automation or lifecycle problems eg using python or shell scripts
8. Knowledge of software quality, including static analysis and code review and bug handling
9. Knowledge of software build technologies such as maven or gradle, and their use in CI/CD of our product via Jenkins (or similar)
10. Knowledge of architectural design patterns - such as the Operator Design Pattern and knowledge of good design/coding practices
11. An understanding of monitoring software in service, how it works and what we can observe
12. An understanding of backwards compatibility and its impact on semantic versioning.
13. An understanding of working in an Agile software development team, preferably Scrum framework.
14. Relevant software development qualifications required and certificates are an advantage
