Highfield Healthcare seeking a dedicated Senior Clinical Psychologist to lead and develop psychological services within its mental health "Approved Centre," which includes Acute General Adult and Psychiatry of Later Life services. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will manage a clinical caseload, conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, develop care plans, and provide clinical supervision to psychology and CBT staff. The role also includes involvement in service development, research, evaluation, and participation in committees and project teams. You will model ethical, evidence-based practice and take an active part in continuous professional development, training, and service improvement. With responsibilities spanning clinical work, supervision, management, and policy input, this role is ideal for a highly skilled and motivated psychologist ready to make a meaningful impact. Key Responsibilities: As a Senior Clinical Psychologist at Highfield Healthcare, you will: Clinical Excellence Deliver a high-quality, evidence-based psychology service aligned with best practice. Manage a diverse clinical caseload and perform comprehensive psychological assessments. Design and implement individualized care plans using a range of therapeutic approaches. Provide expert clinical supervision to psychology staff and CBT therapists. Contribute a psychological perspective to multidisciplinary team decisions and take a lead role in care planning when needed. Advocate for service users and maintain the highest professional and ethical standards. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless, integrated care. Actively represent the psychology department in team meetings, case conferences, and committees. Research & Innovation Use evidence-based research to inform clinical practice and service development. Lead or participate in audits, evaluations, and research projects to support continuous improvement. Share research findings through publications and presentations where appropriate. Supervision & Training Engage in regular professional supervision and ongoing CPD. Provide teaching, training, and supervision to trainee psychologists, postgraduates, and non-psychologists. Offer consultation and training to colleagues across the healthcare organisation. Leadership & Service Development Supervise and manage assigned staff, ensuring effective service delivery. Contribute to service planning, policy development, and performance monitoring. Maintain accurate and compliant clinical records and data reporting. Support recruitment, HR processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with statutory and clinical governance frameworks, including Mental Health Commission standards. Maintain appropriate patient and residents' records in accordance with Highfield Healthcare's requirements, Mental Health Commission and Data Protection Acts. Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and/ or experience Candidates must have: 1) a recognised University degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 equivalent) obtained with first or second-class honors in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honors obtained in that subject and 2) A) postgraduate professional psychology qualification recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology as appropriate to the area of professional psychology in which the position is designated OR 2) B) postgraduate professional psychology qualification validated by the Department of Health and Children in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology as appropriate to the area of professional psychology in which the position is designated 3) have at least five years satisfactory postgraduate experience in professional psychology in which the position is designated. The five years' experience must comprise of no more than three years full time Post Graduate training and no less than two full years' experience as a Staff Grade Psychologist. Years more than the permitted three years for completion of the Post Graduate training or time not worked cannot be taken into consideration when assessing the five years' experience requirement.
