Assistant Director of Nursing

Cpl Healthcare is seeking a highly experienced registered nurse to fill the role of Assistant Director of Nursing in a North Cork nursing home.

This nursing home, currently supporting 150 residents, requires a skilled professional to develop their skills within a supportive environment. The successful candidate will work with an experienced team of healthcare professionals in a diverse and multi-cultural setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, leading the Nursing team in delivering Person-Centred care.
  • Plan and allocate nursing teams with appropriate staff members, skill mix, and levels of experience to meet clinical demands and continuity of care.

This is a 4-day week role working 8am to 6pm daily, offering an attractive remuneration package reflective of the successful candidate's previous experience.

Requirements:
  • Registered General Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
  • A minimum of three years post-registration nursing experience in the past six years in Care of the Elderly.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a management capacity in the health and social care area.
  • Management qualification or Higher Diploma in Gerontology (desirable but not essential).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Ability to manage one's own workload effectively while responding flexibly to new demands at short notice.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and learning throughout the nursing home.
  • Availability to work flexible hours when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence others, build constructive relationships, and achieve outcomes.
  • Promote an ethos and culture of quality assurance within the clinical area, identifying and establishing benchmarks and KPIs in consultation with the Director of Nursing.
  • Proven track record in team management and performance management.
