The Grand Canal Hotel is currently seeking to recruit a Maintenance Personnel to join our busy team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. Only candidates with current permissions and visa status eligible to work in Ireland will be considered. Candidates must have experience working in a previous Maintenance Department. Main responsibilities of the role include: Perform minor repairs Painting all areas of hotel. Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs Ensuring the upkeep of the yard and back areas. Carrying out of maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance routines as per the departmental requirements in painting, tiling, plumbing, carpentry, electricity. To assist with work in the Rooms, Kitchens and Bar Area i.e. tile grouting, light plumbing. Abide by all the hotels safety procedures and complete all training as required. To assist contractors when needed. To ensure repairs are carried out on a timely manner. To provide assistance to the maintenance team. Ensure all work is carried out to the highest professional and Safety standards possible. To maintain effective communications with all other Departments with specific attention to Front Office, Restaurant, Kitchen and Conference & Banqueting. The Ideal candidate specification as follows: Qualifications or significant experience in painting. Qualifications in one or more trades including plumbing, electricity and construction is desirable. Ability to work in a pressured environment Full time availability with flexibility to working a variety of shifts. Have flexibility regarding working hours.
