As Billing Assistant, your role is to support the billing department in driving efficiency and maintaining high quality customer service levels across our customer base. Responsible for reviewing and preparing invoices, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of billing data, resolving billing issues and maintaining accurate records collaborating closely with the Frontline & Finance Teams.

You will be highly organised and comfortable building relationships and working with all levels of the firm. Stakeholder management and communication will be vital to the success of the role. This position requires a self-driven, high-energy, professional who’s passionate about disrupting an industry and wants to be rewarded for their performance and contributions.

Key Responsibilities

- Submit reimbursement requests to insurers
- Process reimbursements for capacity partners, clients and brokers
- Work with clients to develop self-pay arrangements and payment plans
- Enter charges accurately and expeditiously to ensure proper records handling and fast payment responses
- Process and follow up on late or missed payments, consulting with the client as needed
- Post payments in a timely manner
- Initiate private pay collections after insurance cancellation, denial or other issue
- Research and resolve client billing problems or issues
- Assist patients and their families with applying for credit and other financial solutions
- Document payment records and issues as they occur
- Ensure compliance with accounting and financial regulations and policies
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and other stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned by your manager

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

- Minimum of 1 year of experience in billing, accounting or a related field
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles and practices
- Experience with billing software such as Quickbooks, SAP or Xero
- Proven administrative experience and ability to multitask and prioritise workflows
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving, analytical and numeracy skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Eagerness and willingness to learn
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Self-starter and takes initiative
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing technical environment

Desirable:

- Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- Background within an Insurance environment
- Enthusiastic about emerging technology and Insurtech
