Overview

The Longford Pizza site is part of the Nomad Foods Group. The business operates two manufacturing sites in Ireland (Longford and Naas) employing approximately 450 FTEs and producing c. 50k tons of Pizzas annually, predominantly under the Goodfella’s and San Marco brands. BEP also produces own label Pizza for many retailers in both the UK and Ireland.

The core responsibility of the Quality Assurance Supervisor role is to lead the achievement of Technical standards on site and contribute to the overall operational performance of the plant. The role will report directly to the Site Quality Manager and will work closely with the relevant support functions e.g. Engineering, Operations, HR, Health & Safety, New product development. The job holder will be a key member of the site's Technical Team.

This successful individual will be value driven with a proven track record in managing activities within a production environment through the resources available to them.

Responsibilities

To be a leader in ensuring that the technical standards on site are adhered to at all times by working with the Operational Team. To support the achievement of the site accreditations in BRC and Customer audits. To support the achievement of a quality culture on site.

- Quality Standards - Plant BRC Score. BRC accreditation is essential to ensure that the Business can continue to supply products to Customers. Target BRC score is ‘A’ with BRC standard expected daily. Using the system to audit the plant against the BRC global standard for food safety on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure the Food Safety HACCP plan is adhered to at all times within the entire plant therefore ensuring safe product is released every time. No product recalls or withdrawals are permitted.
- An overall Product Quality score of 100% every day. The necessary procedures and processes need to be implemented in order to achieve such scores. Ensure that all product quality standards are clear to all Operators, Senior Operators, Production Managers and Factory Managers and that “zero defects” is the required target.
- Customer Satisfaction – Ensure in-house processes and procedures guarantee that product is produced to specification. A 20% reduction in complaints vs previous year. Ensure all Customer feedback and complaints are addressed and communicated on a weekly basis to the plant with trend analysis and improvement plans.
- A proactive approach to eliminate Customer complaints needs to be developed. Statistical analysis of product quality and Customer complaints needs to be merged during Kitchen tasting sessions to ensure quality feedback is supplied to Operations.
- Internal Audits – Ensure audits are carried out as per schedule and audit scores > 85% are achieved. This will only be achieved through working with production to ensure improvements and actions are addressed timely.
- Customer Specifications – Ensure communication and understanding of customer requirements to the Operations Team and ensure compliance to customer KPI targets.
- Documentation Control – Ensure compliance to documentation control procedure and accuracy of completion, storage and speed of retrieval of historical records.
- Non-conforming Product – Ensure all non-conformances are dealt with adequately following internal processes to prevent future non-conformances.
- Health and Safety – A proactive approach to Health and safety is required. A SUSA contact score of 4 is required for the plant and both Technical and Quality personnel will be key contributors to this score.

Qualifications

Essential

- Experience in a position of responsibility within a quality related function in a FMCG manufacturing environment.
- BRC Standards and Customer codes of practice.
- Good Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to proactively identify potential problems, evaluate solutions, and implement them in a timely manner.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong PC skills.
- Process/system development.
- Planning/organizing.

Desirable

- Diploma or equivalent in a Science or Technology.
- Experience in the application of ‘Lean Tools’.
- Exposure to NPD in a FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Project management.
- Continuous improvement.
- SAP skills.
