Our client is a leading specialist contractor in the utilities and power sector, delivering complex transmission and distribution projects across Ireland. Known for their technical excellence, safety culture, and collaborative approach, they partner with major DNOs, ICPs, and Tier 1 contractors to deliver critical infrastructure that keeps the lights on.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Transmissions Project Manager to take ownership of end-to-end delivery of high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) projects — typically in the 132kV–400kV range. You’ll lead multi-disciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the full lifecycle of transmission projects from design to energisation.
- Oversee project teams including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, client specifications, and SHEQ requirements.
- Monitor budgets, schedules, and risk registers.
- Build strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact.
- Lead regular progress meetings and reporting to senior management.

Experience & Skills Required

- Proven experience managing HV/EHV transmission or substation projects (132kV+).
- Strong understanding of National Grid, DNO, or ICP frameworks.
- Commercially astute with excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Engineering qualification (Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
- SMSTS, CSCS, and National Grid BESC or TP137 authorisations (desirable).
