Deputy Piping Department Manager

Overview PM Group is a leading International engineering, architecture, project and construction management firm. We wish to appoint a Deputy Piping Department Manager for the Dublin Business Unit. The primary function of the Deputy is to support the Department Manager in all aspects of managing the workload and resources in the department. Reporting to the Dublin Piping Department manager, the Deputy Piping Department Manager is a part-time role and will be undertaken in conjunction with a design or project execution role. Closing date 22nd August 2025 Responsibilities Assist in the planning and allocation of resources Recruitment and development of resources - graduate recruitment, internal training plans, and performance appraisals Improve the efficiency of the department's work processes Maintain quality standards within the Department Support Piping engineering related improvements via the EMF and other forums as necessary Support the development of the service delivery platform support scope. communities Deputise for Department Manager during periods of absence Support the development of the Piping MOE capability. Support Business Development activity - proposals, presentations, client visits, etc. Development of execution strategies for project. Support commercial and risk reviews of projects. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities Manage project budgets and resources effectively to optimise project outcomes Monitoring and ensuring compliance with established procedures and project governance Stay up to date with latest industry trends and technologies Qualifications Excellent communication & people skills Highly motivated & Innovative individual Good time management skills - ability to balance dual role Strong Commercial focus Familiarity with PM Group design and project execution systems Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Strong understanding of industrial standards and regulations Proficient in relevant software and tools (CADWorx / Plant 3D) Proven leadership and Team management skills Bachelors Degree /Ordinary Degree (Level 7) in Engineering or Science related discipline Minimum of 10 years' experience in discipline area with a minimum of 3/4 years in a design office environment. Must have previous experience as the Piping Design Lead on projects Why PM Group?
