Amazon's Information Technology organization is seeking a Systems Development Engineering Manager to lead our Telephony services team within Amazon's Enterprise Engineering group.

- Lead a team of elite Engineers in building, operating, and optimizing global communication platforms
- Architect and maintain robust, scalable telephony and video conferencing infrastructure
- Drive operational excellence through monitoring, automation, and continuous service improvement
- Oversee system reliability, capacity planning, and infrastructure lifecycle management
- Champion incident management and resolution processes across multiple technology stacks

Imagine starting your day reviewing low-level designs for an amazing new collaboration service with your team, then leading an incident post-mortem to strengthen our service reliability. By afternoon, you're collaborating with global stakeholders to optimize our communication infrastructure, and ending your day knowing you've enhanced how Amazonians connect and communicate.
About the team
In Enterprise Engineering, we're not just building tools – we're crafting the backbone of Amazon's global productivity. Your work will directly impact hundreds of thousands of Amazonians across six continents, enabling them to collaborate seamlessly and achieve extraordinary results.- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years in systems or software engineering
- 3+ years managing technical teams
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems
- Strong background in network engineering and infrastructure operations- Master's degree in related technical field
- AWS certifications and cloud infrastructure expertise
- Experience with VoIP, SIP, and unified communications platforms
- Track record of implementing ITIL practices and operational frameworks
- Experience with automation tools and infrastructure as code (IaC)
