Junior Estimator

The Junior Estimator is responsible for producing accurate and competitive quotations for joinery and interior fit-out projects. This includes interpreting drawings, sourcing materials and subcontractor pricing. The role ensures projects are costed effectively while maintaining profitability and competitiveness. Key Responsibilities Review architectural drawings, specifications, scope of works documents, door and ironmongery schedules. Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and specialist subcontractors in a timely manner. Assist in value engineering proposals to improve budget alignment / customer expectations. Liaise with clients, designers, and contractors regarding specification queries. Prepare quotations for Fitout projects. Prepare quotations for Fire Doors and Frames. Generate Production Order forms and bill of quantities for Fire Doors and Frames. Requirements 3+ years estimating experience in joinery, carpentry manufacturing, or interior fit-out (preferred). Familiarity with joinery workshop processes (advantageous). Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially excel. Strong understanding of joinery materials (timbers, veneers, hardware, laminates) and manufacturing methods. Ability to read and interpret architectural and joinery drawings. Commercial awareness and an understanding of margin, markup, and cost control. Strong communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy.
